Epilogue
61 Squadron Lancaster W4898 QR-F left Syerston airfield in Nottinghamshire on 28 April 1943 at 20.36 hours and never returned.

The target was a mining operation in the Copenhagen Approaches codenamed "Verbena".

No radio message was received and the plane was presumed lost as a result of enemy action.

From the crew of seven airmen the bodies of Michael Collenette, Ian Robertson and Jack Norman were given up by the sea.

Reginald Mix, Nathaniel Gyles, Franklin Moore and Arthur Bond are still reported missing and have no known grave.
